Valencia appoint Prandelli

Valencia have appointed former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli as their new head coach on a deal that runs until June 2018.

The appointment of the 59-year-old who has been without a club since he was sacked by Galatasaray in November 2014 was confirmed in a statement on Saturday.

Prandelli will take a watching brief as Los Che host Atletico Madrid in LaLiga on Sunday before formally taking charge and meeting the media on Monday.

The Italian is the club s eighth head coach in a little over four years as Valencia have struggled to recapture the consistency they enjoyed in the previous four seasons under Unai Emery, which yielded three successive third-place finishes.

Having lost their opening four games of the season under Pako Ayestaran, caretaker Voro has ste…

I would pick Alexis Sanchez over Neymar, says Di Natale

Udinese star Antonio Di Natale has stressed he would prefer Alexis Sanchez over Neymar if he had to choose between the Arsenal man and the Barcelona forward.

Neymar and Alexis played together at Barcelona in 2013-14 before the Catalans opted to cash in on the Chile international and bring in Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

Di Natale would have held on to his former team-mate, though, had he been in charge and has nothing but praise for the 26-year-old.

Alexis and Neymar are both wonderful players, who play talismanic roles for top club sides, he said.

When you re talking about players at that level, it s always difficult to say who s better. If I was a coach, I d love to have both of them in my team.

But if I had to choose one, I d choose Alexi…

Torres performances at Mestalla and during the U-21 European Championship in 2019 (which he won with Spain) have shown that the right winger could go very far.

That is why now Bianconerri are ready to even offload players in order to get the player and have a place for him in the team. At least that is what the media in Italy are claiming.

Apparently, Juve are considering selling Douglas Costa as they could go for Valencia star this summer. Some reports even suggest Federico Bernardeschi could be sold, but that is harder to see …
